At this point it’s safe to say that every healthcare organization has at least heard of the internet of things or IoT, but I’m willing to bet that many of them haven’t heard of the “Analytics of Things”. Starting in 2016, this is about to change.

The number of mobile devices and sensor-enabled objects has fundamentally changed the healthcare environment, not only from a wireless infrastructure and data security perspective, but from a business or operational perspective as well.

All of these connected devices provide a huge opportunity in the form of big-data. There’s an increasing amount of information being generated everyday on hospital wireless networks and it’s time that healthcare decision makers start taking advantage of it to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Hospitals are under greater and greater pressure to drive down costs while increasing patient satisfaction; by leveraging technology hospitals can finally use real business intelligence to successfully achieve their goals.

To understand where the analytics of things is going and just how important big-data is becoming in healthcare, check out the infographic from the folks over at Perficient, as they cover the top ten most important healthcare analytics trends to watch for in 2016.
